Tumbleweed Smith to be inducted into Texas Trail of Fame

October 4, 2013

Tumbleweed Smith of Big Spring, newspaper columnist and producer of The Sound of Texas radio series, will be inducted into the Fort Worth Stockyards Trail of Fame on Oct. 26.

The organization recognizes individuals who have made major contributions to the creation and preservation of the western way of life and western heritage. The program has recognized 130 individuals since its inception in 1997.

Each fall, the Texas Trail Board of Directors announces new inductees and installs a 24-inch bronze marker bearing the honoree’s name on the walkways of the Fort Worth Stockyards National Historic District. The 2013 Texas Trail of Fame induction program will take place at 10 a.m. in front of the Exchange Building at 130 E. Exchange Avenue in the stockyards.
