AUSTIN – Texas Game Wardens will conduct its first virtual patrol ridealong via Twitter on Labor Day weekend.
The wardens will give the public a first-hand look at what happens on a typical opening dove season shift in their tweet-along on Sunday, September 1st.
Throughout that day, the agency’s technology warden, also a commissioned officer, will join a warden in Travis County and tweet continuously what happens that day.  The public is invited to follow along at twitter.com/TexasGameWarden.
Special Operations Chief Grahame Jones conceived the idea because he wanted to give the public a better idea of what Game Wardens face on a given shift.
“I think showing the public first-hand what wardens do will help build relationships,” Jones said.
Any information that could endanger someone – such as victims’ names or exact addresses – will not be tweeted.
