August 28, 2013

GLASSCOCK COUNTY — Two people were killed and two injured late Monday in a three-vehicle crash about 10 miles north of Garden City.

According to traffic investigators, killed were 41-year-old Wilson “Tex” Edwards Jr., a graduate of Big Spring High School, and 30-year-old Alvis Linker of Duncan, Okla. The accident took place about 10:30 p.m. on Ranch Road 33.

Officials said the truck Edwards was driving crossed into oncoming traffic and struck a vehicle driven by 24-year-old Curtis Gaston of Big Spring. Gaston's vehicle went into the ditch and turned over.

Edwards' vehicle continued and had a head on crash with a truck driven by Linker.

Gaston and a passenger in his vehicle, 26-year-old Justin Stockton, were transported from the scene and hospitalized in stable condition, according to reports.

Funeral service for Edwards will be at 10 a.m. Friday on the Edwards Ranch, located at 3100 FM 461, Big Spring. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Thursday at Nalley-Pickle and Welch Funeral Home in Big Spring.
