Unexplained fire burns eight acres

March 7, 2014

It’s a good time for a burn ban.

As Howard County heads into the windy days of March, a reminder of the necessity of a recently approved burn ban kept volunteer firefighters busy for parts of Wednesday and Thursday.

The fire, located northeast of Big Spring just off N. FM 700 close to Sandy Draw, first flared around 6:30 p.m. Wednesday.
