United Way board adds members

And two more makes a full board.

During the most recent board meeting of United Way of Big Spring and Howard County, two new board members were sworn in for three-year terms. New members are Conoco Phillips employee Jason Brock and Sherry Hodnett of Home Hospice.

“We are very pleased to welcome Sherry and Jason to the board and are excited to see what new ideas they will be bringing,” said Sandy Stewart, United Way executive director.

The remainder of the meeting consisted of routine items, including acceptance of minutes and financials as well as other housekeeping items.
The next meeting will be held July 11 on the fourth floor of Scenic Mountain Medical Center. Kick-off planning will continue and committees will begin to meet.

According to Stewart, the 2013 campaign kick-off will take place at the Big Spring Country Club on Aug. 18. Tickets will be available from any board member after the next meeting. Freeride will provide entertainment for the event this year.

Board members for the 2013 campaign include Debbie Wegman, president; Ann McClarty, first vice president; Larry Rodgers, second vice president; Lisa Barber, treasurer; and Donna Wright, secretary. Other board members include Wayland Pierce, Troy Tompkins, Jeff Ward, Dr. Keith Ledford, Jimmy Crosby, Jeanie Knocke, Linda Adams, Amanda Moreno, Jessica Rivera, Genia Phillips, Niki Leuschner, Manny Negron, Kristen Nichols, Chad Averette, Melinda Lopez, Kelly Wigington and Lori Metcalf.
