Valentin Corralez, 76, of Big Spring, died Thursday July 17, 2014, at Midland Memorial Hospital. Vigil services will be 7 p.m. Sunday at Myers & Smith Chapel. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday at Holy Trinity Catholic Church with burial following at Mount Olive Memorial Park.
He was born Dec. 16, 1937, in Cuchillo Parado, Chihuahua Mexico. He was a Catholic. He had worked for Clay and Lee Harris and more recently at Shroyer Motor Company. He married Margarita Mora in 1977.
He is survived by his wife, Margarita Corrales of Big Spring; four daughters, Leticia Ramirez, Norma Johnson, Romana Quezada and Rosalva Corrales, all of Garden City, Kan.; one step-daughter, Cynthia Menchaca of Seagoville, Texas; two sons, Oscar Corrales and Gerardo Corrales of Chihuahua, Chihuahua Mexico; two step-sons, Bobby Delgado and Michael Dutchover, both of Big Spring; two brothers, Federico Corrales and Doroteo Corrales; 18 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and one on the way.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Julia Corrales; one daughter, Maria Isabel Corrales; and two brothers, Alonso Corrales and Eduardo Corrales.
Those serving as pallbearers will be Manuel Lopez, Chico Lopez, Ruben Lopez, J.C. Hilario, Ben Hilario, Austin Hilario, Manuel Hilario and David Menchaca.
