VAMC's Marsh bound for Oklahoma City

May 17, 2013

Daniel L. Marsh, director of the West Texas VA Health Care System, is headed for Oklahoma.

Marsh, who has been in the Big Spring area since 2008, will become director at the Oklahoma City VA Medical Center effective June 2.

Marsh said he is proud of the processes that have been implemented and the accomplishments during the five years he's been in Big Spring.

“Delivery of quality health care to my fellow veterans has been my goal throughout my VA career and I will carry this mission with me to my new location,” said Marsh. “I leave behind a very dedicated staff to continue the many new initiatives that we have implemented and I have no doubt the transition to a new director for WTVAHCS will be a seamless process.”

Andy Welch, director of the Amarillo VA Health Care System, will serve as interim director for the West Texas VA Health Care System for now.

“We are pleased ... that Mr. Andy Welch will be the interim director of the West Texas VAHCS while we work to replace Mr. Dan Marsh,” said Susan Bowers, director of the VA Southwest VA Health Care System. “Mr. Welch will continue in his current role as director of the Amarillo VAHCS while he also leads the West Texas VAHCS until a permanent replacement is on board, which may take several months.”
