Fireworks may be one of the main attractions, but vendors aren't far behind.
Spots are still available for those wanting to sign up as a vendor for the 2012 Pops in the Park celebration, set for July 3 at the Comanche Trail Park Amphitheater.
“Each year, we have those who come back from the previous year, but we also add a few new ones each year,” said Becky Crane, vendor director for Pops in the Park.
Vendor locations — which total around 30 spots — are at the top of the amphitheater. Non-profit groups can reserve a space for $50. Space for others is $150. At this point, six spots have been reserved.
“Registration has been slow this year, but we usually see a rush as it gets closer to the event,” Crane said.
Booth spaces, according to Crane, are a great fundraiser. Some of the vendors signed up for this year include funnel cakes, glow in the dark items, turkey legs, barbecue and other food items.
“This is a chance for residents to get out and enjoy a day of fun and celebration,” she said.
Vendor set up will be from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. July 3.
