Verna Lee Yancey Turner, 77, of Big Spring died Wednesday, Nov. 23, 2011, in a local hospital. Graveside funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 26, 2011, at Mt. Olive Memorial Park with the Rev. Craig Wascom, pastor of First Assembly of God Church, officiating.
She was born March 31, 1934, in Colorado City, Texas, and married Billy Ray Turner on Nov. 12, 1961. He preceded her in death March 2, 1996.
Verna was raised in Colorado City and moved to Big Spring in 1956. After marrying, she lived in Abilene many years, returning to Big Spring in 1996. She was a homemaker and a member of Assembly of God.
Survivors include one sister, Cleta Satterwhite of Odessa; one brother, Darrell Yancey and wife Susie of Big Spring; and several nieces and nephews.
