Vernon Lee Miller, 92, of Lamesa, died Wednesday, Dec. 7, 2011, in Lamesa, Texas. Funeral services will be held Saturday, Dec. 10, 2011, at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Gail with Randy Hardman and Matt Farmer officiating. Burial will follow in Gail Cemetery under the direction of Branon Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Friday, Dec. 9, 2011, from 7 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Branon Funeral Home.

He was born March 27, 1919, near Ranger to Riley and Nina (Fambrough) Miller. He married Ruby Pruitt in 1939 in Lamesa. She preceded him in death in 1997. He later married Flo Gordon in 2004.

Vernon was a member of First Baptist Church of Gail.

He was a cattleman and horseman, having ranched in Borden County for many years.

He is survived by his wife, Flo Miller; grandsons; great-grandchildren; brother, Bob Miller and wife Dorothy of Lamesa.

He is also preceded in death by his parents; son, Terry Lee Miller; and an infant son, Tommy Miller.
