H.W. Caylor on display at the Heritage Museum
Friday, 14 March 2008
Image
Daniel and Yolanda Perez study one of the many paintings by western cowboy artist H.W. Caylor on display at the Heritage Museum, 710 Scurry. Caylor’s art depicts the history of early Texas and its development during the late 19th and early 20th Centuries. A West Texas rancher as well as an artist, Caylor and his wife lived in Big Spring and are both buried at Mount Olive Cemetery. (HERALD photo/Lyndel Moody)

Are the Caylor paintings on a website? Are copies for sale? Our family were among the early settlers and supporters of Mr. Caylor before he became known. We enjoy this site and a bit of Big Spring history. My grandmother was among the first teachers in B.S., The school was held in their home on Scurry St. We're told the Caylors lived with or very near my gt grandparents, possibly rented rooms. They too are buried at Mount Olive Cemetery.
