The Angel Food Ministry

The Angel Food Ministry of Big Spring will be taking orders for the May 31 delivery from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. Friday and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. Orders will also be taken Friday, May 16, and Saturday, May 17, at the same times.

Orders will also be taken both Saturdays at the Big Spring Mall. The hours will be 10 a.m. until 3 p.m.

Angel Food Ministry is a non-qualifying food program to help all save on their food bills. All food is FDA inspected and is restaurant quality.

The headquarters for the Angel Food Ministry is in New Hope, Ga. North Birdwell United Methodist Church is the host site for the Angel Food Ministry of Big Spring where the truck delivers the food to and where it is pick up by those who have ordered.

Other host sites in the Permian Basin are in Odessa and Midland. There are also host sites in Abilene and San Angelo.

For $30 cash or money order, the following box of food for May 31 delivery contains:
4 6-oz. bacon-wrapped beef filets
1 2.5-lb breaded chicken breast filet
4 6-oz. bone-in-pork steaks
1 28-oz. Salisbury steak dinner
10 4-oz. bean and beef burritos
1 2-lb. popcorn chicken
1 9.5-oz. flat bread pizza
1 16-oz. cauliflower-carrot blend
1 15-oz. corn niblets
1 16-oz. green beans
1 2-lb. bag fresh onions
1 29o-z. pears
1 32-oz. shelf stable milk
1 9-oz. breakfast cereal
1 8-oz corn muffin mix
1 16-oz bean soup mix
1 dozen eggs
1 dessert item

When you order the above box of food you can also buy, if you so choose, any or all of the below listed specials for $20 each.

Special 1: 7-lb. grill box; one 1.5-lb chicken breast kebob kit that makes six; one 1.5-lb chicken breast; 4-oz vegetables (onions, peppers & skewers); two 10-oz ribeye steaks; four 8-oz thick-cut pork chops.

Special 2: 5-lb. steak box; two 12-oz. New York strip steaks; two 12-oz. bone-in ribeye steaks; four 8-oz. sirloin strips.

Special 3: 12-lb chicken combo box; one 5-lb whole chicken; one 2-lb breaded chicken tenders; six 5-oz. boneless, skinless chicken breasts; one 1-lb fully cooked breaded chicken wings; one 2-lb. chicken breast nuggets.

Angel Food Ministry of Big Spring appreciates all of the community volunteers who make this ministry possible. On May 31, immediately after distribution is completed, North Birdwell United Methodist Church will honor the volunteers and their families with a hamburger and hot dog lunch.
