Valerie May Garcia, 20, of Big Spring died Sunday, May 4, 2008, at her residence. Vigil services were at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Myers & Smith Chapel. Funeral Mass was at 2 p.m. Thursday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with the Rev. Bernard L. Gully officiating. Burial was at Mount Olive Memorial Park.
She was born May 30, 1987, in Big Spring to Mary and Vaudelio Garcia. She attended Big Spring schools and was a homemaker. She was a lifetime resident of Big Spring and was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She is survived by two daughters, Alexis Garcia and Arianna Rios, both of Big Spring; one son, Daniel Rios Jr. of Big Spring; parents, Mary and Vaudelio H. "Vilele" Garcia of Big Spring; four brothers, Edward Fierro and his wife Esperansa and Vilele Garcia III and his wife Priscilla, all of Big Spring, John Paul Fierro and his wife Monica of Wichita Falls, and Michael Fierro and his wife Casada of Roscoe; two sisters, Sabrina Fierro and her husband Anthony and Monica Lopez and her husband Johnny, all of Big Spring; several nieces and nephews; and maternal grandmother, Geneva Martinez, and paternal grandfather, Vaudelio Y. Garcia, all of Big Spring. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Juan Martinez; her paternal grandmother, Maria Gloria Garcia; and her unborn son, Angel, who died with her.
