He attended Hardin Simmons University and Angelo State University and also served in the U.S. Army. He married Berna Cockrum in July of 1960 in Seminole. “Fuzzy” was a wonderful husband and father. He loved camping and fishing and above all spending time with his family and grandchildren, who he loved dearly.
Survivors include his wife, Berna Schooler of Paint Rock, his mother-in-law, Bernice Cockrum of Ballinger, three sons, Steven and wife Holly Schooler of Austin, Michael and wife Diann Schooler of Fort Collins, Colo., and Ken Schooler of Paint Rock. One brother survives, Benny Lloyd Schooler of Stephenville. He left behind five grandchildren, Rashae Martinez, James Schooler, Kenneth Jack Schooler Jr., Mary Schooler and Derek Schooler and two great-grandchildren, Jared and Kymarie.
Family visitation for “Fuzzy” Schooler will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, May 9, 2008, at Heritage Family Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 10, 2008 at the First United Methodist Church in Paint Rock with burial to follow in the Paint Rock Cemetery.
