The Big Spring Police Department reported the following activity between 9 a.m. SATURDAY and 7 a.m. today:

• SHERRI THOMPSON, 23, of 2409 Brumley, was arrested Saturday on a charge of possession of a controlled substance.

• MICHAEL BYRNE, 54, of Andrews, was arrested Saturday on a charge of driving while intoxicated.

• AUBRY CHILDERS, 20, of Midland, was arrested Sunday on a local warrant.

• NANCY CUELLAR, 20, of 1900 Martin Luther King Blvd., was arrested Sunday on three local warrants.

• THEFT was reported in the 500 block of 14th Street.

• CRIMINAL TRESPASS was reported in the 2500 block of Fairchild.

• PROHIBITED WEAPON was reported in the 700 block of Lancaster.

• POSSESSION OF DRUG PARAPHERNALIA was reported in the 700 block of Lancaster.

• POSSESSION OF A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE was reported in the 700 block of Lancaster.

• ASSAULT CLASS C/FAMILY VIOLENCE was reported:

in the 600 block of Holbert.

1300 block of College.


The Howard County Sheriff’s Office reported the following activity:

Note — Officials with the Howard County Jail reported having 61 inmates at the time of this report.

• MARTIN GALINDO CASTANEDA, 22, was arrested Friday by the HCSO on a charge of criminal mischief – family violence.

• VICTOR TYRONE PRUITT, 40, was transferred to the county jail Friday by the BSPD on a charge of violation of a protective order.

• EUGENE RODRIGUEZ, 34, was transferred to the county jail Friday by the BSPD on a charge of driving while license invalid/suspended – enhanced.

• JOHN EUGENE KELLEY, 41, was transferred to the county jail Friday by the BSPD on a charge of driving while intoxicated – second offense.

• JOE ERIC CANALES, 33, was arrested Friday by the HCSO on a motion to revoke probation for sex offender's duty to register.

• MICKEY RAY GREEN, 24, was arrested Friday by the HCSO on charges of bondsman off bond for driving while license invalid and bail jumping – failure to appear.

• TRACY JEROME BLACKMON, 44, was transferred to the county jail Friday by the BSPD on charges of assault causing bodily injury and theft.

• DOLORES VICTORIA RIVERA, 25, was transferred to the county jail Friday by the BSPD on a charge of theft.

• JOSE ALFREDO MELENDEZ, 25, was transferred to the county jail Friday by the BSPD on a charge of aggravated assault causing bodily injury – family violence.

• EMILY LEANN HOBBS, 18, was transferred to the county jail Saturday by the BSPD on charges of consumption of alcohol by a minor – third or more offense and evading arrest/detention.

• DEMARCUS WILLIAMS, 20, was transferred to the county jail Saturday by the BSPD on charges of manufacture/delivery of a controlled substance in a drug free zone and manufacture/delivery of a controlled substance.

• ERNESTO TREVINO, 24, was transferred to the county jail Saturday by the BSPD on a charge of deadly conduct – discharge of a firearm.

• ROY JOHNSON, 65, was transferred to the county jail Saturday by the BSPD on a charge of prohibited weapon.

• STEVEN GAMBOA, 24, was arrested Sunday by DPS on a charge of public intoxication.

• BILLY JOE MARLAR, 19, was arrested Sunday by the HCSO on a motion to revoke probation for criminal mischief.

• VICTOR ANAYA, 24, was arrested Sunday by DPS on charges of driving while license invalid and failure to identify – giving false information.

• MICHAEL RAY BYRNE, 54, was transferred to the county jail Sunday by the BSPD on a charge of driving while intoxicated – open container.


The Big Spring Fire Department and Emergency Medical Services reported the following activity:

• MEDICAL was reported in the 4300 block of Ratliff Road. One person was transported to SMMC.

• MEDICAL was reported in the 1700 block of Runnels. One person was transported to SMMC.

• MEDICAL was reported in the 1200 block of E. Third Street. One person was transported to SMMC.

• MEDICAL was reported in the 1400 block of E. Sixth Street. One person was transported to SMMC.

• MEDICAL was reported in the 400 block of E. 15th Street. One person was transported to SMMC.

• MEDICAL was reported in the 1900 block of N. Highway 87. One person was transported to SMMC.

• MEDICAL was reported in the 2600 block of Chanute. One person was transported to SMMC.

• TRAUMA was reported in the 1300 block of Mulberry. One person was transported to SMMC.

• TRAUMA was reported in the 1200 block of Lancaster. Service refused.

• TRAUMA was reported in the 1300 block of Colby. Service refused.

• MEDICAL was reported in the 2500 block of March. One person was transported to SMMC.

• TRAFFIC ACCIDENT was reported in the area of County Road 22. One person was transported to SMMC.

• TRAUMA was reported in the 500 block of N. Goliad. One person was transported to SMMC.

• MEDICAL was reported in the 600 block of N. Gregg Street. One person was transported to SMMC.

• AUTOMOBILE FIRE was reported in the 3300 block of W. Highway 80.

• MEDICAL was reported in the 2600 block of Kneel Road. One person was transported to SMMC.

• TRAUMA was reported in the 1700 block of Harvard. One person was transported to SMMC.

• TRAFFIC ACCIDENT was reported in the 6600 block of S. Highway 87. One person was transported to SMMC.

• MEDICAL was reported in the 1300 block of Wright. One person was transported to SMMC.

• MEDICAL was reported in the 900 block of Father Delaney. Service refused.
