Step back and take a good look

To the Editor,
My wife and I have been really put off lately by the "customer service" we have been receiving from local businesses. It seems as though the businesses have forgotten who their real bread and butter is.

We have been dining at a couple of local restaurants and the service was horrendous. The establishments' excuses were that they had large orders from Alon. Well guess what, these very disrespectful workers that are here temporarily will be gone shortly (thank goodness) and they will be left with us, the real customers.

Alon has not paid their taxes and yet we are catering to them. Not just the restaurant industry, all businesses need to take a step back and look at their customer service skills. We do not have them. Get real, Big Spring!

Well thank god someone finally spoke up about the poor customer service in this town. Good for you!! and you are absolutely right!! People don't even smile anymore. Most are mute, and those that can talk don't know how to say hello, thank you, can i help you, or please come back. I was so happy that chicken express came to town. Finally, some real management that teaches their employees people skills. I don't know how many times I have gone to local restaurants and have been so disappointed with the lack of courtesy and respect for the paying customer. Big Spring Herald should do an entire page on this and ask the public what they really think and why people go out of town so often. Nice coverage for Newswest9, or candid camera. I would rather drive to Dallas or San Antonio to eat. People are much nicer there.
