The Big Spring Police Department reported the following activity between 7 a.m. Tuesday and 7 a.m. today:
• JAMES HEATH DOUGLAS, 30, of 2506 Fairchild, was arrested Tuesday on a Bastrop County warrant. • MONICA RENAE POLK, 34, of 806 Ohio, was arrested Tuesday on a charge of failure to identify and two warrants for possession of a controlled substance. • CODY THOMAS ROSENBAUM, 19, of 409 Martin Luther King Boulevard, was arrested on a charge of racing on the highway. • JOHN EUGENE TERRY, 23, of 1608 Runnels, was arrested on a charge of public intoxication. • ASSAULT BY CONTACT was reported in the 1900 block of Highway 87. • ASSAULT CLASS C/FAMILY VIOLENCE was reported Tuesday in the 500 block of Aylesford. • ASSAULT CLASS C/FAMILY VIOLENCE was reported Tuesday in the 500 block of Aylesford. • BURGLARY OF VEHICLE was reported Tuesday in the 1600 block of Canary. • CRIMINAL MISCHIEF was reported Tuesday in the 500 block of Douglas. • FAILURE TO IDENTIFY AS A FUGITIVE FROM JUSTICE – GIVING FALSE INFORMATION was reported Tuesday in the 300 block of 16th. • FAILURE TO IDENTIFY AS A FUGITIVE FROM JUSTICE – GIVING FALSE INFORMATION was reported Tuesday in the 900 block of Sixth. • RACING ON HIGHWAY was reported Tuesday in the 1100 block of Lamesa. • THEFT was reported Tuesday in the 1700 block of FM 700. • THEFT was reported Tuesday in the 2700 block of Wasson. • THEFT was reported Tuesday in the 700 block of 14th Street. • THEFT OF A FIREARM was reported Tuesday in the 700 block of Interstate 20. The Howard County Sheriff's Office reported the following activity: Note – Officials with the Howard County Jail reported having 49 inmates at the time of this report. • LETICIA KAY CANTU, 32, was transferred by the BSPD to the county jail Tuesday on charges of no valid inspection certificate, violation of a promise to appear and failure to identify. • TERRANCE HAMPTON, 31, was transferred by the BSPD to the county jail Tuesday on a charge of failure to appear. • GENARO CASTILLO, 18, was transferred by the BSPD to the county jail Tuesday on a Texas Youth Commission warrant parole violation for burglary. • RAYMOND IGLESIA ALVEAR, 30, was transferred by the BSPD to the county jail Tuesday on a charge of possession of marijuana – two ounces or less. • KANIEL MATTHEW MIRAMONTES, 22, was transferred by the BSPD to the county jail Tuesday on a charge of tampering/fabricating physical evidence. • MICHAEL ALLAN GARZA, 25, was transferred by the BSPD to the county jail Tuesday on charges of failure to appear for driving while intoxicated and bondsman off bond for driving while intoxicated. Note: In the Tuesday edition of the Big Spring Herald, the HCSO incorrectly reported the arrest of Jessie L. Woodruff, 44, on a judgement/sentence for possession of marijuana – more than two ounces and under four ounces. According to HCSO officials, the arrestee was actually Woodruff's son, 23-year-old Jesse Lendell Vanderbilt, who was incorrectly booked upon his arrest. The HCSO apologizes for any inconvenience the mix-up may have caused. The Big Spring Fire Department and Emergency Medical Services reported the following activity: • MEDICAL was reported Tuesday in the 1200 block of Johnson. One person was transported to SMMC. • MEDICAL was reported Tuesday in the 1900 block of Scurry. One person was transported to SMMC. • MEDICAL was reported Tuesday in the 1600 block of Gregg. One person was transported to SMMC. • TRAUMA was reported Tuesday in 800 block of Owens. One person was transported to SMMC. • MEDICAL was reported Tuesday in the 7000 block of S. Service Road. One person was transported to SMMC. • MEDICAL was reported Tuesday in the 2900 block of Highway 80. One person was transported to SMMC. • TRAUMA was reported Tuesday in the 800 block of S. Owens.
