Grand Jury Indicts 15 Individuals

Several cases involving Big Spring Police Department Drug Task Force undercover operations highlighted Thursday's session of the Howard County Grand Jury.
The grand jury handed down 27 indictments against 15 individuals, most involving sting operations by the local drug task force.

Myrell Simpson Jr., 34, 2911 Highway 80, was indicted six times for delivery of a controlled substance as a result of task force operations that stretched from December to March. Also receiving multiple drug indictments was Eric Howard Lansperry, 52, of 811 Lorilla, who was indicted four times for delivery of a controlled substance, District Attorney Hardy L. Wilkerson said.

“Drug cases have dominated the last several grand juries,” Wilkerson said. “Our task force has been very active.”

Of the 27 indictments handed down Thursday, 22 were for drug charges.

“Most of these cases were the result of undercover work by the Big Spring Police Department,” Wilkerson said. “This was high-quality work by the task force and we look forward to prosecuting these cases.”

Individuals indicted during Thursday's session of a the Howard County Grand Jury include:

• Donald Ray Alsbaugh, 47, 2609 Wasson, forgery (state jail felony).

• Phillip Rene Alcantar, 20, 500 N. Runnels, burglary of a habitation (second degree felony).

• Jaime Lee Atkinson, 39, 4202 Old Colorado City Highway, violation of protective order with two previous convictions (third degree felony).

• Roy Dwight Biddle III, 47, 105 W. 18th, driving while intoxicated (first degree felony/enhanced).

• Anthony Guadalupe Chavez, 22, Howard County Jail, two counts of delivery of a controlled substance (first degree felony/enhanced).

• Apollo Allen Dunlap, 18, 1301 E. Interstate 20, indecency with a child (second degree felony).

• Eric Howard Lansperry, 52, 1211 Harding, three counts of delivery of a controlled substance (state jail felony) and one count of delivery of a controlled substance (second degree felony).

• Kirsten Tashay Lewis, 23, 800 ½ Nolan, possession of a controlled substance (state jail felony).

• Morgan Frances Lopez, 26, 2501 Barksdale, robbery (second degree felony).

• James Edward Mason, 52, 300 Tulane No. 7, possession of a controlled substance (second degree felony/enhanced).

• Judy Ann Mata, 39, 1112 McGregor, Coahoma, driving while intoxicated (third degree felony).

• Tedric L. McCalister, 32, 2911 W. Highway 80 No. 224, two counts of delivery of a controlled substance (second degree felony).

• David Grijalba Morales, 31, 1512 Sycamore, unlawfully carrying a weapon on alcohol premises (first degree felony/enhanced) and unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon (first degree felony/enhanced).

• Lewis Perry, 37, 811 Lorilla, two counts of delivery of a controlled substance (first degree felony/enhanced).

• David Christopher Petree, 23, 2709 Cactus, possession of a controlled substance (third degree felony).

• Coie Monique Pope, 20, Howard County Jail, possession of a controlled substance (state jail felony).

• Danielle Marie Rawls, 26, 811 Lorilla, two counts of delivery of a controlled substance (first degree felony/enhanced).

• Alicia Ann Robinson, 32, Odessa, two counts of forgery (state jail felony).

• Pedro Peralta Sanchez, 34, Howard County Jail, driving while intoxicated with child passenger (state jail felony).

• Myrell Simpson Jr., 34, 2911 Highway 80 No. 103, four counts of delivery of a controlled substance (state jail felony) and two counts of delivery of a controlled substance (first degree felony).

• Cheryl Williams (also known as Cheryl Ann Clement), 49, 9608 Gail Highway, driving while intoxicated (second degree felony/enhanced).
