The Big Spring Police Department reported the following activity between 7 a.m. Thursday and 7 a.m. today:
• THEFT was reported: in the 500 block of Johnson. in the 1800 block of Fm 700. in the 400 block of Birdwell Lane. • POSSESSION OF A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE IN A DRUG FREE ZONE was reported in the 1900 block of Runnels. • CRIMINAL MISCHIEF was reported: in the 1900 block of Runnels. in the 1900 block of Main Street. in the 1100 block of Birdwell Lane. in the 300 block of 24th Street. • BURGLARY OF A VEHICLE was reported in the 2900 block of Stonehaven. • BURGLARY OF A HABITATION was reported: in the 1300 block of Utah. in the 1500 block of Nolan. • ASSAULT CLASS C/FAMILY VIOLENCE was reported: in the 100 block of Lockhart. in the 3200 block of Avenue C. • ASSAULT BY CONTACT was reported in the 1100 block of Mulberry. • AGGRAVATED ASSAULT was reported in the 1300 block of Mulberry. The Howard County Sheriff’s Office reported the following activity: Note — Officials with the Howard County Jail reported having 62 inmates at the time of this report. • MELITON VIERA, 44, was transferred from BSPD after being arrested on a charge of driving while license suspended/invalid. • JUAN MANUEL NIETO, 33, was arrested by deputies on a charge of driving while intoxicated. • JOHNATHAN PAUL BUSTAMANTE, 19, was transferred from BSPD after being arrested on a charge of possession of marijuana/two ounces or less. • JOHNNY JORGE RODRIGUEZ JR., 18, was transferred from BSPD after being arrested on a motion to revoke probation for consumption of alcohol by a minor. • RAUL MENDEZ, 29, was transferred from BSPD after being arrested on charges of aggravated assault and possession of marijuana/two ounces or less. • VICTOR MANUEL FRAYRE-SANCHEZ, 29, was arrested by deputies on a failure to appear warrant. • ANTONIO JOE FLORES, 27, was arrested by DPS on charges of speeding and failure to maintain financial responsibility. The Big Spring Fire Department and Emergency Medical Services reported the following activity: • MEDICAL was reported in the 1300 block of Mt. Vernon. One person was transported to SMMC. • TRAUMA was reported in the 1500 block of Nolan. Service refused. • TRAFFIC ACCIDENT was reported in the 500 block of Father Delaney. One person was transported to SMMC. • TRAUMA was reported in the area of Father Delaney. One person was transported to SMMC. • MEDICAL was reported near the intersection of Rosemont and Wood. One person was transported to SMMC. • TRAUMA was reported in the 1300 block of Mulberry. Service refused. • TRAFFIC ACCIDENT was reported in the 1700 block of E. Fourth. One person was transported to SMMC.
