It is a miracle more of this does not happen. Everyday you see drivers riding to close to other trucks, trying to literally push 4 wheelers down the road by riding their bumper!
My all time favorite is drivers who either don't care or don't realize the danger of passing another truck in construction zones. I have had drivers almost put me in the wall because I was driving under the posted construction speed limit or driving the speed limit and they are in a hurry. Construction zones are dangerous. Trucks are put in lanes that sometimes have lips on them that throw the trucks almost into the wall or another lane. You have workers that come out to or over the lines plus the lights of the construction crews or lights of oncoming traffic that almost blind you. I see drivers that do not get over for trucks coming onto the interstate, or get over for anyone on the shoulder. Our job is hard enough with four wheelers riding our bumpers so close you cannot see them and cutting in front of you with no room to spare without us driving stupid. Drivers complain about the DOT and police but as long as they drive illegal, do stupid things on the road, and drive to fast they will have to deal with them. Just drive legal, speed wise, hour wise, give yourself enough room to have a way out and think past that steering wheel!
