According to Sgt. Tony Everett, public information officer with the Big Spring Police Department, the juvenile — whose name is not being released due to his age — turned himself in Tuesday.
“The suspect was being sought by police when he turned himself in at 11 a.m. Tuesday,” said Everett. “The suspect is a 16-year-old juvenile whose name is not being released due to his age. He has been charged with two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.”
Noe Sanchez, 18, and Orlando Sanchez, 24, were both transported to the emergency room at Scenic Mountain Medical Center after officers were called to the 1400 block of Virginia Aug. 23, according to officials with the Big Spring Police Department.
“Patrol was dispatched to the 1400 block of Virginia in reference to a shooting,” said Everett. “On arrival, officers found two subjects had been wounded by gunfire and the suspects had fled the scene. It appears the shooting was the result of an ongoing feud between two individuals and does not appear to be gang related.”
Everett confirmed both victims suffered single gunshot wounds to the leg.
The suspect was interviewed by detectives and transferred to the juvenile facility, according to Everett.
