COAHOMA — Homecoming festivities at Coahoma High School reach their peak when the homecoming queen is crowned tonight.

Five senior girls will vie for the crown. They are:
  • Megan Conley, daughter of Mike and Carrie Conley. She has been active in band, student council, National Honor Society, cheerleading and theater during her high school career.
  • Berkley Iden, daughter of Brandon and Neasa Iden. Berkley has been a member of Future Farmers of America, student council and National Honor Society, as well as participating in cheerleading, softball and basketball.
  • Paige Jackson, daughter of Johnny and Susan Jackson. During high school, she has been a participant in student council, cheerleading and is a member of the golf team.
  • Shelbi Paige, daughter of Gary and Cathy Paige. Aside from participating in cheerleading and student council, she has been a member of the basketball and softball teams.
  •  Hilari White, daughter of James and Monica White. Hilari has been active in band, student council, color guard and National Honor Society and has been a member of the tennis and basketball teams.
  • The queen will be crowned at halftime of tonight's football game between the Bulldogs and Kermit's Yellowjackets, school officials said.

Homecoming queen won't be the only royalty crowned tonight in Coahoma. The Football Hero and Sweetheart will be announced prior to kickoff at 7 p.m. in Bulldog Stadium, school officials said.

Other activities include a pep rally at the stadium at 3:23 p.m. and a barbecue supper hosted by the band boosters at 5:30 p.m. adjacent to the stadium. Cost is $5 per plate, which purchases a brisket sandwich, chips, drink and treat. Money raised will help the boosters support the high school band program, said booster Tasha Rinard.
