Club members from across the Permian Basin will be in Big Spring the next two days, exhibiting their best creations and offering many for sale.
Admission is free to the event, which runs from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days.
Today, club members will have their work judged in a variety of categories, ranging from religious icons to caricatures to miniatures. The top two overall entries, regardless of category, will win Best of Show or Judge's Choice honors.
On Saturday, the public is invited to browse and buy from a large number of items on sale.
“If you want to get an early jump on Christmas shopping, this is the perfect place to do it,” said James Fryar, club member. “We'll also hold a give-away for a hard-carved Christmas tree with more than 100 ornaments, and a nativity scene, also hand-carved.”
Fryar estimated that close to 1,000 people would visit the club's Show and Sale before its conclusion Saturday evening.
