By THOMAS JENKINS Staff Writer A Big Spring man found himself on the wrong end of a taser Wednesday evening after law enforcement officials say he lunged at a police officer.
Arthur Nanny, 49, of 105 Eighth St., was arrested and charged with assault on a public servant and resisting arrest during an altercation at his home at approximately 7 p.m. Wednesday, according to police officials. “Officers were called to the home on a report of a domestic disturbance,” said Sgt. Tony Everett, public information officer with the Big Spring Police Department. “There were several intoxicated subjects at the residence. Nanny made several threatening remarks to the officer, and then lunged for him. That's when the officer used his Taser on him.” Everett said the Big Spring man suffered no injuries as a result of being stunned, and was immediately booked into the city jail, where he remained Thursday morning. No other arrests were made as a result of the altercation. The police officer suffered no injuries as a result of the attack, according to police officials.
