To the Editor: I would like to take this opportunity to say thanks to the Vietnam Memorial Committee, the Hangar 25 personnel and all the volunteers that gave their time and work to feed the motorcyclists that took part in the Ride to Remember from Midland to Big Spring on Memorial Day.
The Vietnam Memorial Committee always goes out of its way to welcome everyone and even hold up its service to wait on the bikers. They don’t have to because the service is not about the Ride to Remember, it is a day to remember, and that is what the ride is about. This year there were more than 700 in the ride, the largest by far in the event’s seven years of existence. The service was great and the food at the museum was excellent. Everyone enjoyed it. Thanks to the people who came out on Gregg Street and showed their support. Again, thanks for everything, Hangar 25, all you volunteers, the Vietnam Memorial Committee and all the law enforcement officers who led the way. Thanks are also due to all the media for coverage of the event. Kenneth Carson Big Spring |
