By THOMAS JENKINS Staff Writer An Ackerly man was killed Thursday morning in a traffic accident near the intersection of FM 828 and FM 26 in Dawson County.
 Nichols Bruce Wayne Nichols, 57, was pronounced dead at approximately 7:57 a.m. by Dawson County Justice of the Peace Denise Dyess, according to Texas Department of Public Safety reports. According to Sandra Pacheco, communications operator with the regional DPS office in Midland, Nichols, a truck driver by profession, was traveling north on FM 26 on his 1982 Yamaha motorcycle at the time of the accident. “Mr. Nichols was traveling north on FM 26 when he entered the intersection. The second vehicle, a 2005 Ford pickup, was driven by Kevin Wiliams of Wolfforth. At approximately 7:37 a.m. Williams disregarded the stop sign and entered the intersection, striking Nichols with the passenger side of the truck.” According to the DPS report, the posted speed limit on both farm roads is 70 mph.
