Aside from Big Spring High School, three other area schools — Coahoma, Stanton and Garden City — will also welcome home exes this weekend. Coahoma High School homecoming activities started Wednesday evening with the annual community pep rally in front of the high school and special dress-up days throughout the week, then will kick into high gear Friday. Prior to kickoff of the Bulldogs' game with Tahoka Friday, the football sweetheart and beau will be crowned. At halftime of the game, CHS' homecoming queen will be announced. Homecoming queen finalists for Coahoma are senior K'Leigh Flowler, the daughter of Joe and Cindy Fowler and Karen and Brian Moore; senior Hayli McCullough, daughter of Ricky McCullough and Melissa and Dave Daniels; senior Kylie Gee, daughter of Gary and Andrea Gee; senior Katie Dunn, daughter of Michael and Amy Dunn; and senior Jordan Martin, daughter of Walter and Laurie Martin. Formal activities conclude with a students-only dance after the game at the elementary school cafeteria, although class reunions are expected to be held throughout the weekend, officials said. Garden City High School homecoming activities include dress-up days all week and a bonfire scheduled for around 8:30 p.m. tonight behind the football field. The homecoming queen, Mr. Bearkat, band sweetheart and band beau will be crowned at halftime of the annual homecoming game against Abilene Christian High School Friday. Homecoming queen candidates are Kelsey Jones, daughter of Gary and Candy Jones; Amber Halfmann, daughter of Nathan and Gena Halfmann; Lauren Schwartz, daughter of Paul and Tara Schwartz; and Morgan Schwartz, daughter of James and Cecelia Schwartz. An all-day get-together of former students is scheduled for 10 a.m. at the school cafeteria. A catered meal will be provided; cost is $10. Stanton High School homecoming activities began with a community pep rally Tuesday and conclude with the annual homecoming game Friday vs. Roby. The homecoming queen will be crowned at halftime of the game. Queen finalists are Rachel Fleckenstein, daughter of Ricky and Laurie Fleckenstein; Michelle Graves, daughter of Craig and Laura Graves; Beatriz Martinez, daughter of Jesus and Linda Martinez; and Tasni Reyna, daughter of Salvador and Idalia Reyna.
