Editor's note: Several churches and other groups in Howard County will be holding Halloween or fall festival activities Saturday. The following is not necessarily a complete list, but represents those who have contacted the Herald.
Heritage Museum The Big Spring Fire Department will be at the Heritage Museum, 510 Scurry, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., promoting Halloween and fire safety. Firemen will be handing out candy and exhibiting a fire truck. Guests are invited to tour the museum's firefighting display at no cost.
North Birdwell Lane United Methodist North Birdwell Lane UMC will have Trunk or Treat at the church, 2702 N. Birdwell Lane from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Everyone is invited.
Howard College Bring your children by the women's dorm at Howard College for a safe trick or treating experience. Students will be ready to treat you from door to door with lots of candy! Time: 5-8:30 p.m. The dorm is the two story-building behind the coliseum, across from Memorial Stadium.
Birdwell Lane Baptist The church, located at 1512 Birdwell Lane, will hold its Family Fall Festival from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. with a Hobo supper, games, cake walk and a hayride.
Alive in Christ Lutheran LCMS Trunk or Treat will be held from 5:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. at 2805 Lynn St. in the Kentwood Subdivision.
First Church of the Nazarene Trunk or Treat is coming to the FCN parking lot from 6-8 p.m. Enjoy treats, a hay ride and much more.
St. Mary's Episcopal and First Christian These two churches will combine for Trunk or Treat at 10th and Goliad from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
First Baptist First Baptist Church invite all area children to its Family Life Center for a Fall Festival from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. There will be games of all kinds, a cake walk and lots of candy. Admission is one canned good per child which will be used for the Food Pantry Ministry of FBC.
Baptist Temple Trunk or Treat will be held from 6:30-8:30 p.m. on the south parking lot at 12th and Goliad. There will be lots of candy for the kids and a drawing for prizes for the adults.
VA Medical Center The West Texas VA Health Care System invited all area children to trick-or-treat with Community Living Center residents in the hospital lobby from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.
