The Big Spring Police Department reported the following activity between 7 a.m. Monday and 7 a.m. today:
• FRANCISCO MELENDEZ, 27, of Brownsville, was arrested Monday on charges of failure to maintain financial responsibility and driving while license suspended/invalid – no insurance.
• CYNTHIA MENDEZ, 39, of 306 N.E. Sixth St., was arrested Monday on a local warrant.
• BILLY HERNANDEZ, 46, address unknown, was arrested Monday on a warrant from another agency.
• BRANDON MINDLING, 18, of 4210 Hamilton, was arrested Monday on charges of assault Class C causing bodily injury – family violence and possession of marijuana.
• RICHARD BAUTISTA, 17, of 1513 Wood, was arrested Monday on charges of criminal mischief and failure to identify – giving false information.
• ERNEST CLARK, 69, transient, was arrested Monday on charges of public intoxication and criminal trespass.
• UNATTENDED DEATH was reported in the 600 block of George.
• POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA – TWO OUNCES OR LESS was reported in the 3600 block of Highway 80.
• CRIMINAL MISCHIEF was reported:
in the 200 block of Third Street.
in the 300 block of Sixth Street.
• ASSAULT CAUSING BODILY INJURY was reported in the 1000 block of Third Street.
• ASSAULT CAUSING BODILY INJURY – FAMILY VIOLENCE was reported in the 400 block of Fifth Street.
• ASSAULT BY CONTACT was reported in the 1700 block of Third Street.

The Howard County Sheriff’s Office reported the following activity:
Note — Officials with the Howard County Jail reported having 79 inmates at the time of this report.
• RICHARD BAUTISTA, 17, was transferred to the county jail Tuesday by the BSPD on charges of criminal mischief and failure to identify – giving false information.
• ERNEST WILLIAM CLARK, 69, was transferred to the county jail Tuesday by the BSPD on charges of public intoxication and criminal trespass.
• STEPHEN KYLE GAY, 25, was arrested Tuesday by the HCSO on contempt charges for no insurance, failure to appear (two counts), failure to yield and a probation revocation for accident involving damage to a vehicle.
• BILLY VASQUEZ HERNANDEZ, 46, was transferred to the county jail Tuesday by the BSPD on a parole revocation for forgery.
• CYNTHIA MENDEZ, 39, was transferred to the county jail Monday by the BSPD on a charge of speeding.
• BRANDON MINDLING, 18, was transferred to the county jail Monday by the BSPD on charges of assault of a family/household member and possession of marijuana – two ounces or less.
• DAVID FEHR REDECOP, 23, was arrested Tuesday by DPS on charges of driving while intoxicated and duty on striking fixture/highway landscape.
• SCOTT ADRIAN VELLINGA, 40, was arrested Monday by the HCSO on charges of no seatbelt and violation of a promise to appear.

The Big Spring Fire Department and Emergency Medical Services reported the following activity:
• TRAFFIC ACCIDENT was reported near the intersection of 23rd Street and Nolan. Service refused.
• TRAUMA was reported in the area of Wasson and Thorpe. One person was transported to SMMC.
• MEDICAL was reported in the 1600 block of Sycamore. One person was transported to SMMC.
• TRAFFIC ACCIDENT was reported in the area of Second Street and Gregg. Two people were transported to SMMC.
• MEDICAL was reported in the 1800 block of N. Highway 87. One person was transported to SMMC.
• MEDICAL was reported in the 700 block of Douglas. One person was transported to SMMC.
• MEDICAL was reported in the 2000 block of Rickabaugh. One person was transported to SMMC.
• TRAUMA was reported in the 1000 block of W. Third Street. One person was transported to SMMC.
• STRUCTURE FIRE was reported in the 1100 block of N.W. Second Street. The fire caused minimal damage to a carport.
• STRUCTURE FIRE was reported in the area of FM 1205 in Vincent.
