SAN ANGELO — Several students from the Big Spring area were among those included on the Dean’s List for the fall semester at Angelo State University, which required them to be full-time students and maintain a grade-point average of 3.25 or better on the 4.0 scale. Those named to the Dean’s List included Sarah N Bartlett, Kyla S. Clark, Patrick W. Croft, Laura K. Fitzgibbons, Tyler J. Fowler, Jarrett D. Galaviz, Emily D. Gully, Courtney L. Hanson, Meghan J. Harp, Whitney A. Kellermeier, Sloan W. Kelly, Tara J. Kuykendall, Addison B. Long, Christie J. Rich, Bradan W. Ritchey, Raegan M. Ritchey, Travis A. Roberts, Anthony C. Rodriguez, Halie D. Schaefer, Macy F. Schwartz, Kayla B. Spence, Carlene J. Stanley, Laci M. Sterling, Haylea D. Stuteville, Miguel C. Teveni, Emilee L. Trammell and Jason A. Worthington.
SAN ANGELO — Tiffani Breann Paige, daughter of Roger and Tammie Paige and granddaughter of Henry and Verla Paige and James and Billie Procter, all of Big Spring, graduated with a 4.0 GPA on Dec. 12, from Angelo State University. She received a master’s degree in communication. While attending ASU, Tiffani was selected to present her research article entitled, “Generational Dialects in Organizational Communication: Millennials Emerging in the Boomer-Saturated Nonprofit Sector,” at the Communication Student Research Conference at the University of North Texas in the spring of 2009. During graduate school she received an International Studies Scholarship and traveled to Italy and Greece with ASU. She is employed full-time as the program director at Meals For The Elderly in San Angelo. Previously, Tiffani received a bachelor’s degree from ASU in Communication in 2007, specializing in advertising and public relations. She was a 2004 graduate of Coahoma High School.
CANYON — Jerry D. Baker of Big Spring was once of 486 West Texas A&M University students receiving degrees from the university Dec. 11. Baker was one of 101 students who received a master’s degree. WTAMU officials also announced that Joran B. Nichols, a senior from Coahoma, was named to the fall semester’s President’s List; and Justin T. Tubb, a sophomore from Lenorah, was named to the Dean’s List.
MIAMI, FLA. — Marissa Lomas-Spencer of Big Spring has been awarded a bachelor of science degree in psychology from Kaplan University. Lomas-Spencer’s accomplishment was celebrated during a live graduation ceremony Jan. 30 in Miami, Fla. General Colin L. Powell, the 65th Secretary of State and former Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, served as the commencement speaker.
