“Response has been very good. We’re going to have a large crowd,” said Debbye ValVerde, Big Spring Area Chamber of Commerce executive director. “We need everyone who has reserved tickets to pick them up now. We still have a few tickets remaining this morning but the best advice would be to call the chamber and see if any are left before you come by.”
The event is free to area farmers and producers, but tickets are required. Tickets for the general public are $10 each.
Tickets will not be available at the door Thursday.
Lunch, catered by Al’s and Son Barbecue, will begin about 11:30 a.m.
Featured speakers for the luncheon will be State Rep. Joe Heflin and State Sen. Kel Seilger. Annual awards will be presented to the top agri-business and producer of the year.
There is no charge for the Ag Expo, which will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. And, crop tours will be held from 1:30 p.m. and 6 p.m., along with a number of demonstrations on topics such as drip irrigation, sorghum and cotton variety tests.
To check on ticket availability for the luncheon, contact the chamber at 263-7641.
