Dell McComb, 81, of Lubbock, a former resident of Big Spring, died Saturday, Nov 3, at the University Medical Center in Lubbock. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 8, 2007, in Jayton. Burial arrangements are under the direction of Agape Funeral Chapel of Lubbock.

Mr. McComb graduated from Big Spring High School in 1943 and from Texas Tech in 1949. After attending West Texas State during the summers, he earned his masters degree in speech in 1953. For more than 35 years he taught speech, drama and coached debate teams at BSHS, Abilene High and El Paso Irvin High.

Dell was preceded in death by his parents, Sam and Verda Mae McComb, and his twin brother, Ell.

He is survived by his sister, Sammie Sue Poulsen of Odessa; his cousin and best friend, Sue Barfoot of Lubbock; and several nieces and nephews. A really bright spot in his life has been John Theroux and his family of Kingston, Pa.
