Vinnie Joan Mosley

Vinnie Joan Mosley left this earth to her eternal heavenly home with Jesus on Oct. 13, 2013. Affectionately called “Nanny,” she loved gardening and her cats (or any other stray cat, deer, raccoon, fox, etc. that showed up in her yard.)Joan was born on July 10, 1929, in DeLeon, Texas, to Jim and Parolee Foster. She graduated from Carbon High School in 1946, amongst a senior class of eight. She graduated from Tarleton University in 1969. She retired from teaching at Burnet CISD in 1989. Joan married Paul Mosley, Jr., on May 29, 1947. She is survived by three children, Mike Mosley and his wife Debbie, of Pasadena, Calif., Viki Gregory and her husband Gene Sproston of Missouri City, and Denise Love and husband Frank of Burnet. She is also survived by one sister, Edith Kelly of Midland, Texas. Her grandchildren are Dawn Mosley, Chris Mosley, Staci Stewart and husband Thomas, Courtney Gregory, Riki Campbell and husband Foy, and Shane Love and wife Skyler. Her great-grandchildren are Madi Wright, Sadie Campbell, Korbin Campbell, Cade Stewart, Owen Stewart, and Quinn Stewart. Joan was preceded in death by her husband Paul Mosley, Jr., parents Jim and Parolee Foster and numerous extended family members. The family would like to thank Seton Highland Lakes ER staff, Seton Williamson County ICU staff, Seton Home Health and Hospice, Dr. Charles Franz, Rene Funkhouser, and the staff at Seton Highland Lakes Medical Clinic for all their compassionate care of Nanny during her long battle with Alzheimer’s disease. A visitation for Joan will be held Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 on Oct. 16, 2013, at Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home in Burnet. The funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 17 at Hill Country Fellowship Church with Pastor Rodney McGee officiating. Interment will follow at Lakeland Hills Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Frank Love, Shane Love, Gene Sproston, Foy Campbell, Chris Mosley and Thomas Stewart.The family has asked that in lieu of usual remembrances, donations be made to Seton Highland Lakes Hospice.
