Viola Johnson

Viola Johnson, 94, died Thursday, Dec. 20, 2012. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 11, 2013, at Myers & Smith Chapel with burial at Mt. Olive Memorial Park.

She was born July 23, 1918, in Marshall, Texas. She married Odder Johnson in August 1979 in Weatherford, Texas. She lived many years ago in Big Spring, moved to Dallas and returned to Big Spring in 2009. She was a homemaker but also worked as a school crossing guard in Dallas.

She is survived by her husband, Odder Johnson of Big Spring; her children, John Wayne Allen of Marshall, Ruby Darlene Morones of Carrolton and Carrie Allen and Marshall Turner, both of Dallas; stepchildren, Janice Starling of Corpus Christi and Wayne Johnson of Big Spring; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her children, Hobart Allen Jr., Robert Earl Allen, Wilbert Allen and Leonard Allen; and a stepchild, Corliss Brehm.
