Virginia Lu oliver, 79 of Livingston, Texas formerly of Big Spring, Texas passed away Sunday, Nov. 20, 2011, at Methodist Medical Center in Houston, Texas.
She was born Nov. 12, 1932, in Ballinger, Texas to Walter F. Lange and Margeret R. (Smith) Lange. She graduated from Ballinger High School in 1949. She attended and graduated from North Texas State College in 1955 with a bachelor of science degree in physical education. She taught school in Kermit, Texas where she met her husband Robert Marvin Oliver of Monahans, Texas. They were married Aug. 20,1961, in Kermit, Texas. She was a 46-year-member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Chapter #845 in Kermit, Texas and chapter #67 in Big Spring, Texas. She was a past worthy matron in 1989 and 1994. She was active as a leader in Cub Scouts and Girl Scouts.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 29 years.
She is survived by one brother, Walter F. Lange and wife Sylvia of Midland, Texas. son, Robert L. Oliver and wife Jackie of Ballinger, Texas. daughter, Ruth Ellen Slate and husband Mark of Mandeville, La. and six grandchildren.
Funeral arrangements are being made with Integrity Funeral Care of Houston, Texas.
