Vivian Thomas Etheredge, 90, of Big Spring died Thursday, April 5, 2012, at Parkview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Friday at Myers & Smith Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 7, 2012, at Resthaven Cemetery in Midland, Texas, with the Rev. Doug Shelley officiating.

She was born July 5, 1921, in Haskell County, Texas, to Katie Arizona (Tucker) and Robert Clinton. She grew up in Howard County but lived in Midland and Odessa most of her life. She returned to Big Spring in 1995 and was a homemaker and a Baptist.

She is survived by two sons, Joe Peterson of Granbury and Cliff Peterson of Odessa; three daughters, Jan Sanders of Weatherford, Liz Hargrove of Granbury and Patti Chambers of Midland; two brothers, Buddy Clinton and Elmer Clinton, both of Big Spring; one sister, Helen Larson of Big Spring; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded by her husbands, Joe Peterson, Woodrow Thomas and Glenn Etheredge; three sisters, Prue Armstrong, Tessie Decker and Clare Clinton; and one daughter, Peggy Gillespie.
