Voter ID help offered

October 10, 2013

Officials with the Texas Secretary of State's office will be in Big Spring next week to provide help for people needing to obtain a voter identification card.

The Secretary of State, in conjunction with the Department of Public Safety, will set up two mobile stations to help people obtain an Election Identification Certificate free of charge, Howard County Election Administrator Saundra Bloom said.

The mobile stations will be set up at the Howard County Road and Bridge office, 1000 N. San Antonio, and the county elections office on the first floor of the county courthouse, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 17-18.

This November's election will be the first in which voters will have to present an approved form of identification before they can vote in person.
