Wanda Pearl Stump 92, of Smithville died Thursday, Feb. 6, 2014, at the Towers Nursing Home in Smithville, Texas.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 8, 2014, at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel in Big Spring. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park.
Wanda was born Feb. 4, 1922, in Lamesa and grew up in Ackerly. She married Lewis Stump in 1941. They made their home in Ackerly. He taught her bookkeeping and when he left for World War II she took his position at the local store. When he returned, they moved to Lubbock where she retired at the age of 72 from the Plains Cotton Co-op Association.
Survivors include her son, Dan Stump of Smithville; one granddaughter; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Lewis Stump; her parents, Jesse and Lorena Pearl (Walters) Hinson; one brother, Darwin Hinson; and two sisters, Laura Gene Lawson and Bertie Faye Shaw.
