War and its relationship to Webb AFB workshop topic

February 26, 2013

An educational and fun workshop is being offered to area children by Hangar 25 Air Museum.

Children age 5 through 12 are invited to attend the Saturday, March 16, event, titled “When Worst Comes to War: Korea and Vietnam at Webb AFB.”

“It is a wonderful educational opportunity for kids to learn about the Korean and Vietnam wars,” said Genevieve Stockburger, museum administrator. “Webb AFB was in operation during both of these conflicts and many pilots who served there found themselves fighting in these arenas.

“Children who attend will get to see our new exhibit — Webb AFB and a Warring Nation — as well as gain a better understanding of a chaotic time in our nation’s history. They will also have the opportunity to learn about helmet art and have a change to put art on their very own helmet!” she added.

To enroll your child in the weekend workshop, complete a registration form and bring it to the museum or mail it in by Monday, March 4. The fee is $5 per child. Parents can obtain a registration form on the Hangar 25 website, www.hangar25airmuseum.com, or at the museum.
