Water conservation topic of mini-seminar

March 31, 2011

Mike Dobrovolsky

Water conservation has been moved to the forefront of a lot of issues.

Johansen's Nursery is hosting Water Conservation in the Landscape Friday at 6 p.m. for residents who are wanting to find out how to conserve water. There will also be time alloted for a question and answer session.

“It's going to come down to sustaining a good, viable water source,” Steve Parish, sales distributor for Gard'n Wise said. “If the water dries up, industry dries up, jobs dry up and people move away. It's a lot more than having green grass.”

With the recent drought situation, water conservation has been addressed by many local government entities. The presentation set for Friday is going to focus on the overall landscape philosophy, not specific products, according to Mike Dobrovolsky, Soil Mender Products region 1 sales manager.
