W.C. 'Curley' Hayes

Services for W.C. “Curley” Hayes, 91, of Cleburne will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 2, 2012, in the Crosier Pearson Cleburne Chapel with Dr. Tony Torres officiating. Burial will follow in the Keene Cemetery.

Mr. Hayes passed away Saturday, Dec. 24, 2011, in Cleburne. He was born to Ira Thomas and Winnie Lois Hagood Hayes on Jan. 27, 1920, in Linden, Texas. He married Rita Faye Duren on Aug. 4, 1943, in Big Spring, Texas.

He was a member of Cleburne First Seventh Day Adventist Church. He was a musician, playing the harmonica and guitar for many years.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Douglas Hayes in 2008; and sisters, Bertha Hayes and Oneta Hagood.

Survivors include his wife, Rita Faye Hayes; daughter, Toni Owen and husband Eddie; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; brothers, Joe Hayes and wife Barbara, and Doyle Hayes; sister, Oleta Stone; and several nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
