Nariah Faith Martinez

Nariah Faith Martinez, 8-year-old daughter of Israel and Toni Martinez of Big Spring, was selected as a candidate in the Distinguished Youth of Texas Scholarship and Recognition Program held Nov. 25-27 at the Marriot Rivercenter Hotel in San Antonio. During the weekend competition, Nariah won the title of second runner up to the Little Miss of Texas titleholder which also included an academic savings bond.
The Distinguished Youth program is designed to recognize girls in grades 2-7 who rank high academically and who are leaders in their schools and communities. The judging criteria used to select the titleholders include the following: Scholastic Record, Service to School and Community, Personality and Poise Projection and Interviews.
Nariah Martinez would like to say “thank you” to all her sponsors: her grandparents Carlos and Miriam Gomez, Granny Louise Molina, dance instructor and owner of the Dance Gallery Miss Stevi, Rudy and Cindy Dominguez, Michael Rodriguez and Phillips Crane and Rigging Inc.
Her mom and dad said, “Congratulations Nariah. You are our little shining star and we are proud of you.”
