Wigington formally seated as BSISD superintendent

February 14, 2014

Chris Wigington received an official nod from Big Spring Independent School District trustees to take over as superintendent of schools, receiving a two-and-a-half-year contract beginning Feb. 13 and running through June 2016 at a salary of $140,000 per year.

He was named as the lone finalist for the position in January and has served in the district for four years, three of those years as the secondary curriculum director and since August as the interim superintendent. He takes over a low-performing district that is under the watchful eye of the Texas Education Agency.
