The bride is the daughter of Maria and Daniel Espinosa of Sonora, Cali. The groom is the son of Evelyn Wilkins and Kenneth Yates of Big Spring.
Guests enjoyed dinner and dancing after the ceremony. The three-tiered purple and orange wedding cake featured moist white cake filled with sweet cream cheese filing and fresh strawberries finished in vanilla buttercream. Guests also enjoyed the grooms delicious cheese cakes which were designed in the shape of UT Longhorns football field.
Given in marriage by her mother, the bride wore a gorgeous ivory wedding gown by Vera Wang. The strapless organza fit-and-flare gown featured a draped bodice and hand-cut bias fringe skirt that flowed down into a modern cathedral-length train. The bride wore elegant purple Badgley Mischka heels and carried a tight round bouquet of fresh purple roses. Matron of honor was Martha Espinosa, sister of the bride, of Sonora, Cali. Maid of honor was Lindsay Kibuyaga, best friend of the bride, of Chicago, Ill. Bridesmaids were Vernoica Alaniz, Alycia Downs, Courtney Gray, Heather Higginbotham, Erika Marmolejo and Sylvia Wilkins. Flower girl was the groom's cousin, Amayah Marques. The matron of honor, maid of honor and bridesmaids wore purple, knee-length cotton sateen strapless dresses with ruching and pockets and orange peep toe heels. All carried tight round fresh white roses, except the matron of honor and maid of honor, who both carried orange roses.
The groom wore a black tuxedo with an orange vest and tie. Best men were Bryan Wilkins, brother of the groom and Mike Smith, best friend of the groom, both from Big Spring. Groomsmen were Jonathan Flores, Adam Partee, Miguel Perez, Wesley Smith, Jason Watson and Patrick Wilbert. Ring bearers were the groom's nephews, Bryan Wilkins, Jr. and Bryson Wilkins. The best men and groomsmen wore black tuxedos with purple vests and ties.
The bride is a graduate of Standford University where she received her bachelor of arts degree in human biology and psychology. She received her master's in public health degree from Emory University and is employed as a health education specialist concentrating on Global Health at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta, Ga. The groom is a staff sergeant in the United States Air Force. He is currently stationed at Mildenhall RAF, U.K. He is a 2002 graduate of Big Spring High School.
