William August "W.A." Ringener, 92, of Stanton died Saturday, May 5, 2012, at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 8, 2012, at the Downtown Church of Christ with Darel McWhorter officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6:30 p.m. until 8 p.m. Monday, May 7, 2012, at Gilbreath Funeral Home.
W.A. married the love of his life, Alta Mae Bryant on Jan. 6, 1942, in Blum, Texas. W.A. was a veteran of the United States Army. He and Alta Mae settled in Big Spring, where he worked for a dairy before moving to Stanton, where he worked for Cap Rock Electric until his retirement in 1981.
After a short retirement, he was appointed City Judge of Stanton and served until retiring in 2000. He served as a deacon and an elder of the Downtown Church of Christ.
W.A. was preceded in death by his wife, Alta Mae; his parents; sisters, Pauline Martin and Anita Johnson; brother, J.M. Ringener; and a grandchild.
Survivors include daughters, Reba Long of Austin, Faye Moore and husband Barrett of Midland and Brenda Kendall and husband Kyle of Stanton; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and siblings, W.J. Ringener Jr., Merle Ringener, Lillian Collum, Dairrel Ringener, Geraldine Bedell and Carolyn Williamson.
