Williams named BSPD chief

Take the “interim” off of Chad Williams' job title.

Big Spring City Manager Todd Darden announced Tuesday that Williams was selected over two other finalists to be the new chief of the Big Spring Police Department.

Williams has been serving as interim chief of the department since Lonnie Smith's resignation earlier this year.

He and fellow BSPD lieutenants Lance Telchik and Robert Fitzgibbons were the three finalists for the position, Darden said.
