Wilmit Edward "Ed" Wilkerson

Wilmit Edward "Ed"  Wilkerson, 85, of Big Spring, died Thursday, March 6, 2014, in a local hospital. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Monday, March 10, 2014, at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park.
He was born Aug. 7, 1928, in Vealmoor, Texas, and married Patsy Lue Sherman Feb. 18, 1957, in Odessa, Texas.
He was a lifelong resident of Big Spring and worked as a plumber for 20 years, retiring in 1970. He served in the United States Army Air Corps and then in the United States Army from 1950 to 1952.
Survivors include his wife, Patsy Wilkerson of Big Spring; two sons, James E. Wilkerson and wife, Beverly and Ryan H. Wilkerson, all of Big Spring; three daughters, Brenda Chavez and husband, Joaquin of Sonora, Lesa Clark and Sandra Carey, both of Big Spring; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James L. and Ettie Jones Wilkerson; and 13 brothers and sisters.
