Infrastructure discussion on tap at tonight’s city council

Staff Writer

Despite a recent downturn in oil activity in this area, Big Spring is still expected to experience growth in the near future. Just what that growth will mean in infrastructure needs and costs will be the subject of a report given to the local city council when it meets at 5:30 p.m. tonight in council chambers, located at 307 E. Fourth St.
Two key areas are expected to dominate the majority of the discussion. The first area includes the northern sector, a roughly fan-shaped area spreading from State Highway 350 in the east to State Highway 176 and Interstate 20 in the south and west. The second area includes the airport sector, which encompasses the area surrounding the Big Spring Airport.
