The fireworks display for the annual July 3 Pops in the Park celebration will be a little bit bigger in 2016, thanks to a price break from the seller.
Last week, committee members approved to increase the fireworks display budget to $25,000 from $20,000 after they learned they could literarily get more bang for their buck.
According to committee chairman Kelly Seals, the event cost around $45,000 to host each year and is completely funded through donations.
“We are always accepting donations,” she said. “Anyone who would like to donate can call Debbye ValVerde at the Big Spring Chamber.”
For more information, call ValVerde at 263-7641.
