Chilly weather deterred many from participating in this year’s Keep Big Spring Beautiful Trash Off.
While several companies and individuals braved the cool morning, the number of people helping around town dropped from previous Trash Offs.
“I’m a little disappointed with the turnout, but we appreciate everyone who is out there working,” said Pat Simmons with Keep Big Spring Beautiful.
After picking up trash and depositing it in the 30 yard dumpsters at the Heart of the City Park downtown, volunteers were able to enjoy some cookies, drinks, hot dogs and some good conversation.
Keep Big Spring Beautiful meets the first Monday of each month in the Cactus Room at Howard College at noon.
